Year 13 Textile students Sophie W., Sophie S., Mia, Madeleine and Isabelle have designed furniture for the Library! The designers and Textiles teacher Miss Goddard were congratulated by the Headteacher and members of the Technology faculty at the unveiling on 10th June.
The library is thrilled with the textiles, especially as they are inspired by items seen in the library. Students measured and made computer models of the furniture using CAD, designed paper patterns and made toiles before printing the final textiles using the sublimation printer.
The project has been a useful portfolio item and talking point in University interviews for the students, many of whom are going on to related studies.
