To celebrate International Women’s Day, we invited Rosaleen Blair, CBE to come and talk to our Year 10 students. Rosaleen is an award-winning entrepreneur, philanthropist, investor and the founder and Chair of AMS (a global workforce solutions company). Rosaleen engaged students with interesting and humorous stories of how she started a small childcare business, before expanding abroad and eventually running her current company employing over 12000 people!
Students asked her some great questions! When asked about her dyslexia which was diagnosed at 20 years old, she called it a super-power as it allows her to think differently.
Rosaleen advised students to use the Unifrog careers portal for research, writing a CV and recording skills. She also sung the praises of doing voluntary work and having a part-time job; both are great ways of improving your skills. Another of Rosaleen’s tips is to practice resilience!
A big thank-you to Jane Caffrey, for helping to organise the event, to Rosaleen and to the AMS team.
