Open Evening is one of the biggest events on our calendar. It is an opportunity for us to invite prospective students into the school to see what we are all about! Students from primary schools come with their families to see the building, meet the staff and hear from our Headteacher.
This year we welcomed literally thousands of people through our doors, despite the rain and stormy weather! If you are thinking of visiting us next year, the rumours are true, we do give out pizza boxes (they do not have pizza in, although a slice can be grabbed in the kitchen), full of important information and goodies!
The hall was packed to the brim, with overflow classrooms set up where we were streaming the speech, all to hear from students and senior staff. Our Headteacher and students spoke about the ethos of the school and how we aim to not only give students a great educational start in life, but also to build the whole person.
This year we also ran our Open Evening competition where students need to find our little mascot ‘Ebie’ who is hidden around the school. The lucky winner would get their hands on an Amazon Fire Tablet! The Year 6 winner from Danegrove School was presented with her winning gift in assembly in front of all her friends, by Miss Coffill. Apparently, Danegrove students do a very good drum roll!
