Girls Football Success!

On Monday 2nd December, the EBS Girls’ Football Teams won their fourth round National Cup fixture beating the Buckinghamshire County Cup Champions, Dr Challoners Grammar School, 4-1. The team played well against a well-rounded and physical side, coming back from 1-0 down, thanks to a hattrick from Keisi and an amazing individual goal from Amelia (both Year 9). The squad consists of Year 9s: Samantha, Abi, Sophie, Keisi, Amelia, Lexi and Daisy, and Year 8s: Hattie, Lois, Raniyah and Francis.

On Tuesday, the Year 9 girls participated in the police violence against women and girls competing against 12 other schools from all over North London. In the group stages, the girls won four games and drew one, conceding only one goal. They won their semi-final 2-0 and in the final, overcame a penalty shoot-out, thanks to two wonderful saves from Samantha to win the cup. A big well done to all girls involved from Year 9 – Deleane (captain), Lois, Lexi, Sylvia, Keisi, Abi, Amelia, Bridget and Samantha.
