Holocaust Survival Story

East Barnet School > Teaching and Learning > Humanities > Holocaust Survival Story

Today, East Barnet School had the privilege of hearing from Gloria Silver, a second-generation speaker, who shared the story of her late father, Holocaust survivor, Tony Chuwen. Tony’s journey was one of immense courage and resilience, including escapes from two concentration camps, assuming a false identity within the German Army, and a daring solo ski trek to neutral Sweden. We are deeply grateful to Gloria for bringing this vital history to life for our students. Learning about the Holocaust is essential in ensuring that its lessons are never forgotten.
