Neoliberalism in Geography Talk

Some of our A-Level Geography students recently attended an engaging and thought-provoking lecture at the Royal Geographical Society, where renowned writer and environmentalist George Monbiot was in conversation with comedian and broadcaster Richard Herring. The event focused on the topic of neoliberalism, exploring its historical roots, global impact, and influence on issues such as inequality, environmental degradation, and the erosion of democratic values. Monbiot offered powerful insights into how neoliberal economic policies have shaped the modern world, while Herring added thoughtful questions and a touch of humour to the discussion. The evening provided students with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of complex geopolitical issues and sparked lively debate back in the classroom.
