Today, Year 11 Sociology students were given the opportunity to have a workshop on the Law led by Shireen Nakhuda LLb(Hons) Solicitor, Senior Lecturer at The University of Law and founder of the Think Like a Lawyer and Life Skills Programme. The group was bubbling with enthusiasm as they learnt the basic of the UK legal system including the two branches of law and the legal criteria used to determine if a crime has been committed. They then went on to debated key issues around the purpose and effectiveness of prison sentences and closed by looking factual scenarios considering whether or not a crime has been committed using the legal criteria.
