European Day of Languages 2024

The European Day of Languages (EDL) has been celebrated across Europe on 26th September since 2001.  It is a fantastic initiative to raise awareness of the diversity of languages spoken throughout Europe and it encourages people to learn different languages. On the day, in Year 7, 8 and 9 language lessons, we talked about how learning a language not only allows you to talk with people from other countries in their own language, but it’s also an introduction to different cultures, different ideas and opens up a world of opportunities.

Some students also took part in a “Great Global Bake Off” and baked some delicious global themed cakes! Well done to all the students who took part in the competition. Everyone who took part received some well deserved House Points.

Joint Winner: Emilia Nawara (Year 7)
Joint Winner: Emilia Dominy (Year 8)
2nd: Natalia Wrobel (Year 7)
3rd: Erisa Bendo (Year 7) & Elida Rranxi (Year 7)

We were also lucky enough to have a themed day in the Kitchen with a delicious European Menu. We are already looking forward to next year!
