This week, our students were treated to an exciting and inspiring visit from SoundSkool – a specialist music industry college and creative community for 16 – 18 year olds. Based in London and established in 2008, SoundSkool has built a reputation for nurturing the next generation of musicians, artists and music producers through practical learning, professional qualifications, and genuine industry connections.
The SoundSkool team brought energy, expertise and encouragement as they introduced students to the wide range of pathways within the modern music industry. From music production and songwriting to performance, technical roles and creative entrepreneurship, students were able to see how varied and accessible creative careers can be.
What made the session particularly impactful was SoundSkool’s emphasis on personal growth and wellbeing – reminding students that confidence, resilience and self-expression are just as important as technical skill. Through hands-on demonstrations and honest conversations about breaking into the industry, they helped our young people understand not just what opportunities exist, but how they can start pursuing them today.
Our students left buzzing with ideas, questions and renewed motivation, with many commenting on how valuable it was to hear directly from professionals who live and breathe the work they aspire to do.
We are incredibly grateful to SoundSkool for investing their time, passion and expertise into our school community. Their visit has sparked real excitement about creative futures, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities to collaborate.
